Urban water
The Department of Water plays a vital role in managing water in the urban environment. Because water is such a precious resource, the department is focused on making sure it is used to deliver the greatest benefits for all of us.
As part of the management process the department oversees the delivery of water services, manages drinking water, is responsible for our winter and summer water restrictions, examines the most efficient forms of drainage, develops flood services and undertakes urban development studies to create sustainable water sensitive urban design.
