Welcome to the Department of Water’s interactive web page presenting water-quality information obtained from waterways across the Swan–Canning catchment.
This project was funded by the state government and the Australian Government through the Natural Heritage Trust program and administered by the Swan Catchment Council.
The water quality at various catchment sampling sites has been classified for all the parameters that were measured at that site. The data is presented here on an annual basis and covers the period from winter 2005 to the present. Community members and regional bodies are encouraged to access this site to learn about the quality of the water in their area. The website is intended to provide an indication of the quality of the water in a stream or river over the period of a year and is not necessarily indicative of water quality at any particular time. The method for calculating these classifications for any given parameter is not the same as that used in the State Wide Water Quality Assessment (2004).
