Monitoring and assessing waterways health

To help manage our rivers and estuaries it is important that we conduct regular monitoring and assessment. This can tell us many things such as the current condition of the waterway, whether that condition is changing over time and the effectiveness of any management actions.

The data collected as part of this monitoring can also be used to construct mathematical models which can predict how rivers and estuaries will behave under different scenarios.
