The Gnangara sustainability strategy is a cross-government initiative working on an action plan that will ensure the sustainable use of water for drinking and commercial purposes and to protect the environment.
The Department of Water has joined forces with the departments of Agriculture and Food WA, Environment and Conservation and Planning and Infrastructure, the Forest Products Commission, the Water Corporation and CSIRO.
Our consultative approach will ensure that we can address land, water and biodiversity issues on the Gnangara system through a transparent, cooperative framework for the benefit of all groundwater users.
