Disability access and inclusion plan (DAIP)

The Department of Water is committed to delivering services to all people with disabilities, their families and carers.

The department is currently developing a new Disability access and inclusion plan to ensure that everyone has equal access to its services. The Department of Water invites any person with a disability, or their families, carers, representative groups or organisations to forward suggestions on how the department may improve its services. Feedback can be given verbally or in writing and the department welcomes suggestions about how it can ensure that:

  • people with disabilities have the same opportunities as other people to access the services of, and any events organised by, the department
  • people with disabilities have the same opportunities as other people to access the buildings and other facilities of the department
  • people with disabilities receive information from the department in a format that will enable them to access the information as readily as other people are able to access it
  • people with disabilities receive the same level and quality of service from the staff of the department
  • people with disabilities have the same opportunities as other people to make complaints to the department and
  • people with disabilities have the same opportunities as other people to participate in any public consultation by the department.
