Strategies and management plans

The Department of Water is responsible for developing strategies and management plans to protect the quantity and quality of water resources. They also aim to protect infrastructure from flooding and enhance the living environment for the community.

We have a five-year program to prepare drainage and water management plans to cover priority urban growth areas between Yanchep and Pinjarra. These plans support an urban water management framework, based on a catchment management approach. This will achieve integrated water cycle management and water sensitive urban design.
