Register your interest to become the Ord-East Kimberley Expansion Project
water service provider
The Department of Water is seeking registrations of interest from suitably qualified parties who are interested in supplying irrigation services to the Ord-East Kimberley Expansion Project. The first land release will be 8 000ha in the Weaber Plains area.
A formal expressions-of-interest process for irrigation and non-potable water service providers will be called in November 2009.
When the selection process starts we will provide all interested parties with a detailed prospectus on what is required by the new Ord-East Kimberley service provider. The prospectus will contain information on the service delivery requirements, business specifications (such as purchasing irrigation assets) and the Economic Regulation Authority's selection criteria for obtaining a service provider licence. Interested parties will then have between four to six weeks to submit their applications to the Department of Water.
To apply to become the new Ord-East Kimberley service provider you or your company must be eligible for an Economic Regulation Authority water services license, under the Water Services Licensing Act 1995.
If you would like further information on eligibility, please refer to the ERA's guideline for services licensing at www.era.wa.gov.au.
